ABOUT CARDIIO
Blood absorbs light. Every time your heart beats, the blood flow to your finger increases, causing more light to be absorbed. In between beats, less light is absorbed. By using your smartphone camera to capture tiny changes in reflected light from your finger, Cardiio can calculate your heart rate.

**IMPORTANT TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
• ALWAYS hold your phone steady, keep still, and don’t talk during a measurement.
• Make sure your fingers are not cold.
• Cover the entire back camera lightly with your finger; Dont press too hard to avoid restricting blood flow to your finger.

Pros and cons of Cardiio: Heart Rate Monitor app for iPhone and iPad

Cardiio: Heart Rate Monitor app good for

This app is so much better than the other app on the store,I love it thanks guy for it.
Good and useful app to stay healthy and to learn about the body!
Im biomedical engineer and I surprised when saw this application. Its like a finger pulse oximeter!
Been using the free version now for 3 days, really i think im gonna grt the full 9.99 package
I use this app regularly and find it accurate when compared to the old taking of the pulse from the wrist.
I got this app out of curiosity. It works really well and seems to be accurate. Its making me obsess a fair bit over my heart rate being too high so I guess thats a good thing?

Some bad moments

After recent events involving my heart rate I decided I needed a way to keep track of my heart rate and this app has been just a few ticks different than the hospital devices and that isnt even certain because I checked it seated and then walked across a room to the hospital unit and the app check had me at 68BPM and the hospital machine read 74BPM. Pretty close. I like it. Good job.
Works great. Now I can easily see if my heart is still working. Just kidding. I like the simplicity of this amazing app. Does what it is supposed to do and more.
I was born with a Right Bundle Branch Block, which produces an irregular heartbeat. This App recently gave me a heart rate of 151...which prompted a visit to the Dr who diagnosed A-fib. This App is nothing short of a life-saver, as I am now on meds to control my condition
It only worked once and you can get any heart rate you want by pressing harder or lighter on the lens.
And easy way to measure and keep track of your heart rate. Good indicator of health in general. I use it several times a week.
I love how I can track not only my heart rate but if I have been active and how long and keep track of my progress
